LOVE this flavor some much. Order it again and again! It’s one of the best

This isn’t your typical taffy flavor and it has just became one of my top ten favorites!
This delicious treat starts with a sweet flavor that I can’t really put a name on, other than maybe 'spiced coconut'? The 'spice' in the initial taste is more like the spice flavor you get in pumpkin spice or spice cake, meaning I find it’s not hot - just a tasty 'spiced' flavor.
But then…. As the candy starts to melt, a subtle heat develops on the back end that continues to build until you swallow, and then your left with a delightful hint of spicy aftertaste.
It’s a good level of heat, but not really hot in my opinion. As a person who loves moderately spicy food, I find the spicy kick is just enough to be enjoyable without being overly hot. I *could* handle it being much hotter, but I think that would take away from the perfect balance of sweet & heat this candy delivers.
Others may not appreciate the lack of heat in the initial bite, but I like that it starts sweet and the subtle heat begins to build as you chew it. They may also not think it’s hot enough overall, but I think any more heat would be a distraction from the flavor profile.
And, of course, there will be others who will think it is too hot. This flavor probably wouldn’t be a great choice for children and/or people who aren’t accustomed to spicy food. I would strongly advise separating this one out if you’ve built your own assortment of taffy for the family. Even though it’s not super intense, I’m pretty sure most children would find the ‘afterburn’ very very unpleasant.
For me though, 5 star treat all the way!!
